The Faculty of Commerce will sign an MoU with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) on Friday, May 6 at 10 am at the LRC Auditorium. This will see CUEA students benefit from both financial and exam exemptions.

The programme provides profound benefits for the Bachelor of Commerce students in terms of exemptions from ACCA examination papers to a maximum of seven for the Accounting Option and five for the Finance Option out of the 14 ACCA papers.

CUEA started collaboration with ACCA in early 2013 on an accelerated programme through which the Faculty of Commerce programme became ACCA Accredited.

Later, the CUEA-ACCA collaboration started focusing on a strategic partnership through an MoU embracing the 1+1 (a B.CoM degree + an ACCA professional qualification) Initiative which carries a Win-Win scenario for the Bachelor of Commerce students at CUEA as well as enhancing their employability through ACCA professional courses.

In mid-February 2016, the Faculty of Commerce embarked on an ACCA tuition program aimed at providing tuition and guidance for students wishing to pursue ACCA examination papers for which they would not be exempted under the 1+1 Initiative. The program is open to all other students although they may not qualify for exemptions.

ACCA is the global body for professional accountants offering business-relevant and first-choice qualifications to people around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance, and management.

Registration for July classes is ongoing with full-time, evening, and weekend options both at the City and Langata campuses. The following papers will be on offer; F1, F2, F3, F5, F6, F7, and F8.

We welcome you to the MoU signing ceremony at the LRC Auditorium.
