University holds its 32nd Graduation Ceremony

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) celebrated its 32nd graduation ceremony on 2nd October 2015. The high commissioner of the republic of Uganda to Kenya Angelina Wapakhabulo crowned the colorful ceremony as the guest of honour. Speaking at the ceremony, Wapakhabulo congratulated CUEA for championing higher education in the region.

She also thanked the CUEA community for emphasizing on ethics, values and spirituality. She challenged the graduands to live fulfilling lives and to become architects of the future to transform society and be ready to reinvent themselves through their lives. She also urged them to maintain the values and the discipline upheld in CUEA wherever they would be called to serve.

The Chancellor, Berhaneyesus Cardinal Souraphiel stated that the key focus of the university is to engage in quality research, teaching and community service. He expressed his believe that the graduands such as the ones produced in CUEA will go a long way in solving the challenges of humanity; ‘the graduands should be the salt and the light of the world’.

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor, Msgr. Dr. Pius Rutechura paid special tribute to the schools and teachers that handled the graduands long before they enrolled at CUEA. He also appreciated the members of the faculties in CUEA, the non-academic staff members and the parents and guardians of the graduands for being with them every step of the way. He assured the graduands that that their future was bright and that they were equipped with great degrees of world class standard. He also stated that CUEA would be launching post-graduate programs in all the disciplines and he welcomed the graduands to return to CUEA to pursue their post-graduate studies. The entire CUEA community congratulates the 1592 graduands who received their degrees and diplomas in the various disciplines. We are proud of you!
