Students also get the opportunity to meet and engage academics, researchers and practitioners from different research institutions, governments, NGOs, and regional organizations. With its support, DAAD intends to lend support to the regional integration initiatives in the East African Region.

The Scholarship Scheme is open to candidates from the East African Region (Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania,Rwanda and Uganda). Well qualified graduates with a first degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who want to be actively engaged in policy-making at regional levels, and who are interested in developing regional approaches to Africa’s socio-economic development are encouraged to apply.
