CUEA and LPI Sign Memorandum of Agreement

 mou signingOn 25th March 2014, The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) and Linux Professional Institute (LPI) signed a Memorandum of Agreement at the Vice Chancellors boardroom. This partnership between CUEA and LPI seeks to empower CUEA students with proficiency skills in Linux.

According to Rev. Prof. Gichure, “Linux is the most reliable computer operating system that we have. This partnership can help the students to be more innovative and creative in their computer skills.” Mr. Evans Ikua, LPI, East Africa Representative, remarked that he was grateful to CUEA for this partnership and affirmed that graduates from CUEA with skills in the Linux’s system will be very resourceful people in the society.

The MoA was signed by Msgr. Dr. Pius Rutechura, Vice Chancellor, CUEA, and Mr. Evans Ikua, LPI, East Africa Representative. Also in attendance was Mr. Sammy Muniu of LPI; Prof. Justus Mbae, DVC Academics; Rev. Prof. Peter. I. Gichure, Director Academic Linkages; Dean Faculty of Science, Dr. Samuel Karoki; Mr. Francis Kamau, Deputy Head, Mathematics and Computer Science Department (also the initiator of the partnership); Personal Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Dr. John Nyambega and Dr. Ann Rita Njageh, Deputy Director of Academic Linkages.
