Research Department at St. Mary’s Village Home for Aged Women at Sagana

homeforagedwomenThe University’s Research Department led the CUEA community in a community service activity at St. Mary’s Village Home for Aged Women at Sagana, on 2nd November 2013. CUEA staff and students demonstrated love by giving and sharing with the elderly women. The University gave

slippers, lessos, grains and foodstuffs to the forty two women in the Home. They also took time to share and encourage them. Most of the aged women at the Home are very lonely and in need of medical assistance.

Spiritual Welfare Community Service at Thika School For The Blind

communityservice2013The spiritual welfare community carried out a community service exercise at Thika School for The Blind on 19th October 2013. The Spiritual Welfare Community spent time with the students, took part in various cleanup activities and gave foodstuff donations.




Library Community Service Activity, Children Reading Campaign at Kibera

libraryserviceKibera Community Library held a reading campaign on 20th September 2013 in partnership with The Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Practical Action, Kenya Library Association (KLA) and Co-operative University. The theme of the event was ‘Reading for Empowerment’.  The purpose of the Reading Campaign was to, promote a reading culture among children, create awareness on the importance and values of a library to the community, give talks on learning and how to improve grades in school and to promote the use of libraries.
